✨ 2024 YTF Highlights + Community Love

Hey Reader,

Hello if you're new to the newsletter + hello (again) after I took an unplanned break from weekly updates!

​

Although January is almost over (where did the month go?!), I want to take it back to highlights of 2024, so you can get to know me better!

By far the most countries I have ever been to in one year! Bulgaria, Poland + Bosnia and Herzegovina were for sure surprises in terms of how much I enjoyed being there. The city of Ljubljana was a gem that took my breath away!

Inspired by a post I had seen from the G.O.A.T. travel couple Kara + Natein the past I recorded all year where I slept + for how long. It surprised me to see apartment nights so high, which was often renting from a local. Colivings took second because they are one of my favourite ways to meet others + really boost an experience. Airbnb's / booking.com are fantastic options to find fuller living environments.

This is my favourite highlight of 2024. Seeing like minded people who love travel, want to experience more with their vacation days + friends of friends exchanging skills, dinners + ideas!

A trend of some travellers (especially when in Europe) is trying to take less flights + choosing alternatives like trains + buses. I was quite proud after visiting 15 countries that I limited my flights + opted for FlixBus or local trains. Trains are still my favourite, although I've adjusted my mindset of buses to think of it as a limousine 😝

This is you.

It's such a joy to get to meet folks from different cultures, backgrounds, careers, languages, dreams, religions...you catch my draft. It's the curiosity of meeting new people that excites me most in travel + the possibility of diving into deeper conversations to learn who they are.

Last Sunday I hosted the monthly Community Call + was joined by great travel friends discussing books, Schengen visas, credit card points...even the idea of marrying someone to get a certain citizenship 🤪 Read about the highlights (+ links of information).

What is going on in Anna's travel world for 2025....you + I both want to know 😆 To be transparent I'm working to find additional freelance projects (bookkeeping, project management, OBM, assistant) while I take care of some life admin here back in Canada.
